Harrison Acurix
Not all carp fishing is at long range, and yet distance is the first thing we often talk about when comparing rods. Acurix is a new range of Carp rods that is aimed squarely at medium range fishing. Designed for accurate and effortless casting and for the backbone and action to play out big fish at closer range. Available in a range of test curves.
Acurix is a beautifully balanced, ultra slim, C-scrim rod that uses the latest technology but encapsulates an age old tradition of catching fish. Acurix is about fishing pleasure. It is about balanced tackle.
The first thing you will notice is the blank diameter. This rod is slim. For example the diameter at the butt is only 14mm at the widest point and 12.5mm above the handle ( 2 3/4lb 12' model). We have achieved this slimness in our own unique way without the simplistic approach of utilising ultra high modulus carbon fibre which can create a dead feeling rod. No, this Harrison rod is crisp and alive and despite being focussed on medium range and playing fish close in, it will cast better and further than you would expect. The 2 3/4 will throw a 2 1/2 ounce lead 100yds with very little effort, the rod doing the hard work, and this leads to more accuracy at this range than a rod which needs to be worked hard, or one that is focussed on longer range. More distance is of course possible, but if you want long range, then other rods in our range are better, Torrix for example.
The next thing you will notice about Acurix is that the 1k carbon fabric you can see on the butt section is subtlety different to that which we use on Torrix with a slightly finer weave. Inside the blank is a blend of high and intermediate modulus UD carbon, ultra light C-scrim and epoxy matrix. This is all solidly based on the Torrix technology the ultimate for carp rods today.
These rods are built as standard with a full EVA handle and a 40mm ring set.
